EYE EXAMINATION

The team believes your child’s eye care is our priority. The visual development occurs during the first 7 years of life, hence this time

is critical to ensure the best visual development. Your child’s eyes are usually assessed by the pediatrician and then referred to an ophthalmologist at the age of 3 years. This may be required earlier as recommended or if one/both parents are short-sighted (myopic). Neither you nor your child may realise there are visual problems. This can have a considerably negative impact on your child’s education, future and visual development.

It is important to look for the following warning signs:
(a) Loosing place while reading
(b) Holding reading material close up
(c) Teachers’ concern: squinting, needs to be up front close, glare, inattentive.
(d) Rubbing eyes
(e) Headaches
(f) Omits/confuses small words while reading and/or writing
(g) Under performance at school
(h) Unexplained inattention
